Cliff is one of the original founding partners of Chartwell Consultants Ltd. and now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. What Cliff enjoys most in his role are the relationships built through over 25 plus years of work in the resource sector. Cliff believes his role is to build and maintain strong relationships staff, associates’ partners and clients who are the at the core of Chartwell’s success. Cliff has a passionate belief that all parties need an opportunity to succeed for the firm to win.
Outside the company Cliff has served on the board of the Consulting Foresters of British Columbia and more recently, on the council of the Association of the British Columbia Forest Professionals. He is passionate about the industry and is always looking for opportunities to give back. Outside work Cliff enjoys boating up and down the BC coast and family life in North Vancouver.
Mike Hedberg, RPF COO / Partner
Mike co-founded Hedberg and Associates in 2004, and is now a founding partner in Chartwell Resource Group. His expertise lies in business planning, project feasibility assessments and forest management. Mike’s career began in forest engineering and has since expanded into operational planning, project management, project design and logistics. Mike has an entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic approach to solving difficult challenges and offers a quality product to clients in industry, government agencies and First Nations. Under his direction, our group has expanded from offering traditional forestry services to offering a broad spectrum of multi-disciplinary resource management consulting services.
Ryan Biller, RPF Manager / Partner
Ryan is the Forestry Manager and one of the partners at Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. He has been a Registered Professional Forester with the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals since 2008. Ryan’s role involves project management, timber supply planning, forestry field engineering, and professional document preparation such as site plan development, visual impact assessments, woodlot management/license plans and total chance plans. He also deals with the coordination and implementation of Chartwell’s resource management staff. He has developed relationships with a variety of clients in the private, government and First Nation resource management sectors throughout British Columbia. Ryan also enjoys helping manage both of Chartwell’s Woodlot License’s (WL #1699 and #2111) and is a Director with the Fraser Valley Woodlot Association.
Rob Deines, RPF Manager / Partner
One of the original partners of Chartwell Consultants Ltd., and now partner in Chartwell Resource Group, Rob has been integral to the evolution and growth of the company. A Registered Professional Forester and member of the Association of British Columbia Forest Professionals, Rob’s primary role includes resource planning and implementation with a specific emphasis on the preparation of Forest Stewardship Plans, Woodlot Management Plans, Woodlot License Plans and Site Plans. Away from work, Rob enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, skiing, playing hockey and involvement in his children’s recreational activities.
Warren Hansen, RPF Manager
As a Professional Forester with Chartwell Consulting Ltd., and now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. Warren currently fills many roles. Under a management contact with Sunshine Coast Community Forest, Warren is their Operations Manager as well as manages a staff of 2 in our Sunshine Coast office in Gibsons, BC. Warren’s strength is project management of energy and oil/gas clearing projects including estimating logging/road building costs for forestry firms and energy developers; preparing land permit and licenses; license management and woodlot management.
Outside work, Warren is a passionate mountain biker and trail builder with advocacy roles as a director of the Trail Society, President of the Coast Mountain Bike Trail Association, past-Stage Director for BC Bike Race and past Race Director of the Coaster 50 Marathon Mountain Bike Race. In 2017, Warren was a finalist for the Kazlaw Community Award which recognizes riders who make a difference to their cycling community in British Columbia.

Heather Hedberg, RPF HR/ Operations Manager / Partner
Heather co-founded Hedberg and Associates in 2004 and is now a partner in Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. She has worked in the forest industry since 1993 with a focus on forest management, ecology and fire hazard and risk. She has collected, managed and reported silviculture data. As Heather’s forestry career shifted from field to office, she embraced her business and organization strengths to manage the company. At present, her main role is business management and administrative operations for Chartwell Resource Group. Heather still enjoys the forests as much as possible, but now on adventures with her family and dog.
Lindsey McGill, P.Eng, RPF Engineering Manager / Partner
Lindsey joined Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., in 2006 with a background in operational forestry and general contracting in the Resource Sector. He is a Professional Engineer and Registered Professional Forester and has developed a reputation for the delivery of economical and effective solutions for the resource sector. Lindsey leads the growing Engineering department and enjoys the challenges posed by our varied client group. With experience gained across Canada and an extensive background throughout British Columbia, Lindsey can offer unique insight and a fresh perspective to complex problems. Outside of work, Lindsey and his wife have two active and wonderful children. Whenever possible, he fits in a game of hockey.
Eric Ortmayr GIS Manager / Partner
Eric has worked in the geospatial industry for over 20 years in a variety of disciplines in the public and private sectors. He joined Chartwell Consultants Ltd, now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., in 2002 and became a partner in 2010. As part of a talented GIS team, Eric leads technology development and is involved with system and process design and deployment. He is responsible for managing the GIS department operations and ensuring that the services delivered meet the expectations of our clients. Working with customers and staff to develop solutions for a diverse range of projects is a rewarding experience that he enjoys. Outside work, Eric spends his time with his family and enjoying outdoor pursuits.
Ryan Turner, RPF, ISA Certified Arborist Manager / Partner
Ryan has worked at Chartwell Consulting Ltd. since 2008 and has been a partner in the company since 2010 and now a partner in Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. Ryan is both a Registered Professional Forester and ISA Certified Arborist. He enjoys working for a diverse client base and strives to find innovative solutions to varying client needs. He can provide expertise at both the forest stand and individual tree level. Ryan served on the board of the Consulting Foresters of BC, mentored students at the University of British Columbia, and has volunteered to speak to elementary students about forestry. After work, Ryan enjoys road and trail running and playing hockey. He often takes advantage of the huge range of outdoor activities that the north shore of Vancouver has to offer.
Gerald Wolfe, RPF Manager / Partner
As a founding partner in Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., Gerald has over 20 years of operational forestry, hydro-electric project and natural resource management experience. Gerald’s strengths include designing forest roads, access planning, and plan and permit submissions for regulatory agency approval. Gerald’s role as Operations Manager consists of providing operational planning and support, field crew logistics, strategic planning, supervision, and business development. His experience includes full phase forestry and engineering coordination, road and harvest unit layout, feasibility assessments, transmission line route planning and geometric road designs. His experience extends to both coastal and interior operational conditions. Gerald is an RPF and a Certified Arborist.
Rachel Amundsen, FIT Forester in Training
Rachel joined Hedberg and Associates in 2018 with focus on silviculture and field engineering and layout. She is an Accredited Silviculture Surveyor and graduated from UBC Forestry with a BSc in Natural Resources Conservation. She continues with Chartwell Resource Group in 2021.
Fred Atkins, RFT Project Lead
I began my forestry career as a compass-man in 1985 working for a Vancouver-based forestry consulting firm, and soon went on to become a timber cruiser. This was back in the days when we were dropped off by helicopter in the middle of nowhere with no radios and the pilot said, “I’ll see you in two weeks.” In 1992 I joined Pretty’s Timber (which later became Lakeside Pacific Forest Products) as a forest engineer where I was employed for the next 28 years. As an operational engineer I honed my skills in every aspect of forestry engineering including road design, waste surveys, cutting and road permitting, appraisals, cut-block planning, and contractor supervision. In 2020, I joined Chartwell Consultants as project lead and am enjoying getting back into the field and providing leadership to Chartwell Resource Groups new recruits. In my off time I enjoy golfing with my awesome wife, fishing, watching my daughter play baseball and my son paddle in white-water slalom.
Lori Bartsch, M.Sc., RPF, RPBio Environmental Services Project Manager
Lori has been with Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., since 2011. She is a Registered Professional Forester (RPF), Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio), and GIS Analyst. Lori is a graduate of the Master of Science in Ecological Restoration program at Simon Fraser University and British Columbia Institute of Technology; her research focussed on the dynamics of floodplain forests and the restoration of associated fish habitat. As a Registered Professional Biologist, Lori focuses on fish habitat and riparian assessments, mitigation planning, offset and restoration planning, ecological and species at risk assessments, environmental monitoring, Environmental Management Plans, and all associated permitting. As a Registered Professional Forester, Lori specializes in site plans, appraisals, cruise plans and reviews, ecological field data collection and interpretation, visual impact assessments, silviculture project management, and project quality assurance. She also has extensive experience supervising contractors, managing reforestation, vegetation management, survey, and site planning projects, forestry permitting, and associated legal reporting. With a background in both private and public sectors, Lori brings with her experience working with contractors, industry, government, utilities, First Nation groups, crown land licensees, and landowners.
Curtis Bennett, RPF Senior Project Lead
Curtis has been working in Coastal BC as a Forest Engineer since 2011. He started with Hedberg and Associates in 2013 and continues with Chartwell Resource Group. He has a variety of experience including LiDAR road design and layout, bridge site plans, aggregate pit volume modelling, recreational campsite design and management of different projects through QGIS . He is proficient in a variety of surveying techniques utilizing RTK, total stations and ArcGIS Collector. In his spare time, he enjoys snowmobiling, dirt biking, mountain biking and building mountain bike trails with 3 trails built under Section 57 permit.

Ben Casselman, FIT Forester in Training
Ben joined Chartwell as a summer student in 2019 and has since become a full-time member of the North Vancouver forestry team after completing a BSF in Forest Resource Management at UBC. Ben has a broad base of experience in the Canadian forest industry stretching back to 2013, including tree planting, silviculture, engineering, GIS and LiDAR analysis. Currently working towards RPF designation, Ben’s primary roles at Chartwell are cutblock and road layout, field crew supervision, and production of quality client deliverables. Ben has a passion for technology and the outdoors, integrating the two in pursuit of innovative solutions. In his spare time, Ben enjoys cycle touring and experimenting in the kitchen.

Sally Enns Field Technician
Sally joined Hedberg and Associates in 2019 as a field technician after many years of tree planting, and returned to Chartwell Resource Group in 2021, with a focus on silviculture. Sally graduated with a BA in Geography from UVic in 2018, and hopes to pursue a Master’s in forestry. In her spare time, she likes to ride bikes, fly fish, and hang out with her dog Elkie.
Callum Fallis, FIT Forester in Training
Callum started as a summer student in 2020 and has been a full-time employee since May 2021. Recently graduated from the University of British Columbia, he is currently a Forester in Training. Most of his work experience comes from the Inlets around the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island. Callum is passionate about the BC forest industry as he is a fourth-generation forestry worker. During his spare time, he enjoys the company of his family and friends as well as salmon fishing and hunting on the Sunshine Coast.

Codie Johnston, RFT Senior Silviculture Project Lead
Codie is an Accredited Silviculture Surveyor and a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) who has worked in the forestry and renewable resources sector for 19 years. Codie joined Hedberg and Associated in 2011 and continues with Chartwell Resource Group. During the first 8 years of her career, she focused mainly on silviculture and Mountain pine beetle surveys, layout and quality assurance in the Interior of BC. Since moving to the coast and obtaining her RFT she has broadened her skill set to include various field and office aspects of hydro-electric power projects, clean energy projects, forestry operations and project management. Codie is a graduate of the Forest Technology – Renewable Resources Program at Selkirk College.
Jennifer Koester Junior Forest Technician
Jennifer joined Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. in 2021 as a forest technician with a focus on field engineering and layout. She is an Accredited Silviculture Surveyor and Danger Tree Assessor. Jennifer graduated with a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and studied Environmental Science at American University in Washington DC, with hopes to pursue a Master’s in forestry.
Andy Kwan, RFT Senior Project Lead
Andy has over 16 years of experience working in the forest sector and joined Hedberg and Associates in 2011. Now with Chartwell Resource Group his specialty includes full-phase timber development and forest engineering. Andy also routinely leads crews on transmission line development and clean energy projects. Andy graduated with a diploma in Forest Resources Forestry Option, from BCIT.
Ben Kwiatkowski, RPF Project Lead
Ben joined Hedberg and Associates as a field technician in 2016 after completing the Master of Sustainable Forest Management program at UBC. Ben has also gained a broad variety of skills highly applicable to the forest industry. Prior to joining Hedberg and Associates, Ben was a member of the BC Wildfire Service Rapattack team based in Salmon Arm. Ben is also an Avalanche Professional with the Canadian Avalanche Association and coordinates the Squamish SAR Avalanche Response Team. Ben is now an RPF and continues to expand his diverse areas of expertise with Chartwell Resource Group. During his free time he is an avid athlete and outdoorsman.
Andrew Lilly, RPF Senior Project Lead
Andrew joined Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., in 2013 as a summer student and has been a full-time employee since 2015. Starting out as an Assistant Engineer, Andrew is now a Project manager working on multiple projects around the lower mainland and the north coast of BC. Andrew’s role involves forest operational planning, field engineering, and site plan and permit preparation.
Adrian Litz, RPF Forest Tenure Project Manager
Adrian (Abe) Litz has over 20 years of experience in the forest industry. Since 2000, Abe has worked in professional forest management and joined Hedberg and Associates in 2007. Now with Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., Abe is responsible for managing forest development and silviculture planning for the forest sector. Abe has also provided forest resource effects assessment research and reporting within the environmental assessment process for run-of-river hydro power development projects. His expertise lies in site and landscape-level planning, First Nation partnerships and consultation, contract administration and site restoration planning and supervision. Abe is an RPF and has a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Forestry and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Dalhousie University.
Chad Longland, RFT Project Manager / Partner
Chad has been with Chartwell Consulting Ltd. and now Chartwell Resource Group for over 14 years and has been working in the industry for over 20 years. He has been a partner in Chartwell since 2016 and is looking forward to helping make Chartwell one of the best resource consulting companies in the province. He spent the early part of his career learning his trade on the west coast of Vancouver Island and the Mid-coast. He has since worked in all the corners of the province on resource related projects. He now resides in Salmon Arm so he can better server Chartwells clients in the southern interior of the province.
Jeff Maas, RFT Senior Forestry Project Lead
Jeff is a Forest Technologist with 25 years of experience in operational forestry and forest engineering. With Hedberg and Associates since 2011 and now with Chartwell Resource Group his expertise is in coastal and interior cut block layout. He also has a background in legal and construction surveying prior to his forestry career. Most recently he completed a Bachelor of Technology degree in Ecological Restoration to supplement his forestry knowledge. His main focus is forest harvest planning implemented through project management, field layout, supervision and training of layout crews.
Stefan Miele Forest & Vegetation Field Technician
Stefan joined Chartwell Resource Group in 2022 as a Forest Technician with a focus on vegetation management. He graduated in 2020 and pursues his professional forestry career towards becoming an RFT.
Ryan Milia, TFT Forest Technologist in Training
Ryan joined Hedberg and Associates in 2019. He has worked on layout and engineering and now focuses on vegetation management as well. He continues with Chartwell Resource Group in 2021.
Rurik Muenter, RPF Project Lead
Rurik has 10 years of experience in resource industries across the province. He has been part of the Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., team for nearly 8 years and has been involved in working on and managing a wide variety of projects, ranging from planning and development of forest development and energy infrastructure capital projects. He enjoys collaborating with other professionals to provide high quality services to clients.
When not at work, Rurik can be found paddling Sechelt Inlet, camping and coaching his kids’ soccer teams.
Dyrian Olson, FIT Forester in Training
Dyrian started with Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., in 2017 as an Assistant Forester and is working towards her Registered Professional Forester designation. Dyrian has worked on multiple projects around the lower mainland and the north coast of BC, allowing her to move into a project lead role. Dyrian’s role involves forest operational planning, field engineering, site plan preparation, and BC Hydro Vegetation Management. In her free time Dyrian is an avid yogi and rollerblader, and enjoys any outdoor adventure.
Ken Pitt, RFT Project Lead
Ken joined Hedberg and Associates in 2016 and continues with Chartwell Resource Group in 2021. He has a broad skill set including forest engineering, crew management, silviculture, and woodlot maintenance. Ken holds a B.A. Philosophy and a Forest Resources Diploma from Vancouver Island University.
Nick Reinhardt, RPF Project Manager / Partner
Nick started as a summer student in 2008, and has been a full-time employee since April 2009. Since the beginning of his career, he has always had an interest in Ecosystems Based Management and has in-depth knowledge of resource management on Haida Gwaii. In addition to mentoring staff, his commitment to the next generation of industry professionals is actualized through his volunteer work with the UBC Tri-Mentoring Program and the B.C. National Forest Week Coalition. In 2014, Nick made a heroic attempt to summit Mount Churchill on the Sunshine Coast but was unsuccessful. It still remains on his bucket list.

Jordan Snyder, RFT Project Lead
Jordan began his career at Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., as a summer student in 2018 and became a full time employee in 2020. Jordan has progressed from a Junior Forest Engineer to Project Lead, working on resource projects throughout the B.C. coastal and interior regions, and has recently obtained his RFT designation. Building off his previous academic and professional experience in business and marketing, Jordan’s skill set has grown to include utility right-of-way layout, client data collection and management, and various surveying duties. After hours, Jordan indulges in music, sports, and the outdoors with friends and family.
Wes Staven, RPF Forest Tenure Project Manager / Partner
Wes joined Hedberg and Associates in 2010 and now continues with Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. Wes has over 20 years of experience working in the coastal forestry industry. He specializes in strategic planning for locating infrastructure in challenging terrain, and providing operational solutions to maximize value for our clients. Wes has extensive experience in multi-phase natural resource management from timber development and permitting, to silviculture treatments and stand management. Wes has successfully completed transmission line planning, design and layout for several large-scale circuits now in operation throughout BC. Wes also has technical proficiency in preparing vegetation management and rehabilitation prescriptions for other industrial clients. He graduated from BCIT’s Renewable Resources Forestry Diploma Program, and has a B.Sc. from UBC’s Forest Science Program.
Noah Steinberg, RPF Senior Project Lead
Noah has been a full-time employee since April 2015. Noah’s role with Chartwell Resource Group includes project management of forestry field engineering, and professional document preparation such as site plan development, visual impact assessments, and total chance plans. Noah has developed a diverse skill set in the forest sector through his work with both coastal and interior clients, as well as his experiences working on other resource related projects. Beginning in 2020, Noah has been working on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project as the Lead for Forestry and Off Right-of-Way Access development. Away from work Noah spends his time exploring with friends and family.

Matthew Van Dyk, RFT Project Manager / Chilliwack Office Manager
Matthew has been with Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., for 15 years and has been working in the Forest Industry for over 30 years. Prior to that he was in the Fish and Wildlife field for 6 years and several other scattered years working in the Construction Industry. Work took him to many locations throughout BC and Alberta. In his youth farming was molded into his being, setting the life stage for getting the job done efficiently. For the last 28 years he has been registered with the two main Professional Associations in BC. Away from work he enjoys life with his family, travel, and many outdoor sports.
Brieana Van Loon Field Technician
Brieana joined Hedberg and Associates in 2021. She has focused her work on silviculture and continues with Chartwell Resource Group in 2021.
Sarah Weber, MSc. Forest Tenure Project Lead
Sarah has been working with Hedberg and Associates since 2014. She focuses on community forest and small tenures planning and continues with Chartwell Resource Group.
Brian White, RPF Project Lead
As a Forest Professional Brian’s experience within forestry has covered a variety of positions both along BC’s coast and Interior operations. Brian’s experience includes Timber Evaluation, Permit Application, Total Chance Planning, Vegetation Resource Management and Project Lead. Having joined Chartwell Resource Group these skills have been put to the test being involved as project lead within the Vegetation Management program and assisting with Forest Operations and Site Plans for various clientele. Gerald Wolfe, RPF Manager / Partner
As a founding partner in Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., Gerald has over 20 years of operational forestry, hydro-electric project and natural resource management experience. Gerald’s strengths include designing forest roads, access planning, and plan and permit submissions for regulatory agency approval. Gerald’s role as Operations Manager consists of providing operational planning and support, field crew logistics, strategic planning, supervision, and business development. His experience includes full phase forestry and engineering coordination, road and harvest unit layout, feasibility assessments, transmission line route planning and geometric road designs. His experience extends to both coastal and interior operational conditions. Gerald is an RPF and a Certified Arborist.
John Arnett, MSc. Forestry/ GIS Analyst
John is a natural resource specialist with a background in forestry, GIS, and remote sensing. John has 10+ years experience working on a wide range of forestry-focused projects including mapping and modelling forest disturbances, designing and developing GIS databases, and collaborating with First Nations Governments. John is an avid cyclist, gardener, pizzaiolo, and has recently started growing an orchard.
Chris Beasy, BA, GISP Project Manager
Chris has worked at Chartwell Consulting Ltd, now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd, since 2013, as a Project Manager focused on LiDAR projects and landPlanner. With two Advanced Diplomas in Geomatics and 18 years of experience in his field, he chose to work with Chartwell based on our commitment to innovation. Chris has been on the Regional Board of Directors of the Puget Sound Region of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing since 2009. Away from the office, Chris spends his time traveling, working towards a clean environment and outdoors with animals.
Simon Casley, M.Sc Senior GIS Developer / DBA
With Chartwell Consultants Ltd, now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd, since 2014, Simon is a GIS Developer and Database Specialist and leads Chartwell’s web service development. Simon has over 15 years of experience across a diverse range of geospatial projects in the natural resource and environmental sectors, with a focus on web mapping and data management. Simon graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Sheffield and a Masters in Remote Sensing from University College London. Outside work Simon can be found on the ski slopes or trying to keep up with his kids on the North Shore mountain bike trails.
Marianne Ceh GIS Project Manager / Partner
Marianne has been with Chartwell Consultants Ltd, now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd, since 2010 as Senior GIS Project Manager, and she also became a partner in 2016. Her role includes developing, maintaining and analyzing data in local and enterprise environments and she is responsible for coordinating and overseeing forestry operational mapping projects for various clients. With more than fifteen years of GIS experience in advanced spatial analysis and map production, Marianne is a seasoned and respected GIS team leader. Outside of work she combines her passions for running and travel by training for and participating in marathons all over the world.
Julie Clarke GIS Analyst
Julie has been with the Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., since its beginning in 2000. Julie is responsible for forestry operational mapping, utilities-based operational mapping and ESF submissions to RESULTS and FTA. Outside of work Julie enjoys hiking the beautiful trails of the North Shore as well as cheering her kids on at all of their sporting events.
Mark Eastwood, AdvDipGIS GIS Project Lead
Mark has been with Chartwell Consultants Ltd, now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd, since 2015, starting off as a member of the field team. He has since moved into a GIS Technician role, focusing on developing web mapping and mobile GIS solutions. Mark has used his experience in web GIS and script writing to help Chartwell develop LandPlanner, a web-based GIS tool. When he is not at work, Mark spends his time outside, enjoying his passion for surfing and climbing.
Mathew Evans GIS Project Manager / Partner
Mathew joined Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resources Group Ltd., in 2010 as a GIS Technician. Now working as a GIS Project Manager, Mathew coordinates the development of web mapping and mobile GIS solutions designed for clients in the utilities sector. He also oversees large scale map production and data management projects. Outside the office Mathew enjoys skiing, hiking, and fishing.
Peter Finch, BSc., AdvDipGIS GIS Specialist
Pete has been with Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., since 2014. Pete’s role as a GIS Specialist at CRGL is complimented by his background in fisheries and wetland habitat management and supported by his degree in Biology. Today he is responsible for operational mapping, visual impact analysis, and geospatial data management. When not in the office Pete spends his time mtn biking, backcountry skiing, fishing, and kiteboarding.
Marilyn Gilmour, B.Sc, AdvDipGIS, BIT Biologist in Training/GIS Technician
Marilyn joined the Chartwell Consultants Ltd team in 2016 as a GIS practicum student and took on a fulltime role shortly thereafter. She continues he work with Chartwell Resources Group. With a background in fisheries, forestry and GIS, Marilyn has carved out a unique and dynamic role at Chartwell. She is responsible for operational mapping as well as the maintenance and analysis of geospatial data. She is also an active member of the Chartwell Biology Department, conducting fish surveys and environmental assessments for various clientele. As a member of BC’s College of Applied Biology, Marilyn is pursuing her designation as a Registered Professional Biologist and is thrilled to expand with Chartwell into this role. When she’s away from work, Marilyn likes to spend her time travelling and exploring BC’s beautiful coast on her bike.
Helen Habgood, MSc. GIS Project Manager
Helen has been a GIS mapper with Chartwell Consultants Ltd. and now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. since the start in 2000. Prior experience as a forestry field technician has given her a good working understanding of operational mapping. She has been providing mapping services to the Hedberg and Associates, now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., since 2010. One of the original founders of Chartwell Consultants Ltd., Helen has recently been stepping back from full time work and moving towards retirement so she can spend more time pursuing her outdoor adventure passions.
Miranda Hawryluk GIS Technician
Miranda joined Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., at the end of 2005 and has worked on many different operational mapping projects. Outside of working hours Miranda will be down at the ocean, gardening or knitting.
Esther Li, MSc. GIS Technician
Esther joined Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. in 2021 as a GIS Technician and is excited about this new opportunity. At Chartwell, Esther is responsible for operational mapping and the maintenance and analysis of geospatial data. She worked as a tree planter, arborist, and field engineer before completing her Master in Geomatics for Environmental Management. For her master’s project, she did a time-series analysis of Glaciers’ extent of the Spearhead range near Whistler Blackcomb ski resort. She found that there is a significant decrease in glaciers’ extent, especially on south-facing slopes. She is hoping to work towards getting her RPF. Outside the office, she likes to spend time skiing, climbing, mountain biking, and spending time with her dog Onyx.
Eric Ortmayr GIS Manager / Partner
Eric has worked in the geospatial industry for over 20 years in a variety of disciplines in the public and private sectors. He joined Chartwell Consultants Ltd, now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., in 2002 and became a partner in 2010. As part of a talented GIS team, Eric leads technology development and is involved with system and process design and deployment. He is responsible for managing the GIS department operations and ensuring that the services delivered meet the expectations of our clients. Working with customers and staff to develop solutions for a diverse range of projects is a rewarding experience that he enjoys. Outside work, Eric spends his time with his family and enjoying outdoor pursuits.
Hazen Price GIS Technician
Hazen graduated with a BSc in geography from UVic in 2017, and an advanced diploma in GIS from VIU in 2021. He worked as a commercial mushroom picker prior to joining Chartwell in September 2021. Hazen splits his time between assisting with fieldwork based out of the Squamish office, and working in the North Vancouver office as a GIS technician. He spends his free time hiking, fishing, foraging, and recording music.
Nick Dyer Senior Technician / Drafter
Nick has been working in engineering consulting as a Civil Engineering Technologist since 2011 and has been with Chartwell Consulting Ltd. since 2014. He continues with Chartwell Resource Group in 2021. Nick has experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D in a wide variety of practical applications in the Forestry, Mining, and Oil & Gas sectors, and also has experience undertaking RTK/Total Station surveys, construction monitoring, and hydrological analysis. Outside of the office, Nick can either be found tenting in the backcountry or at a brewery in a town near you.
Ches Lisiecki Senior Technician / Survey Specialist
Ches has been with Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., since 2000. He is a Senior Forestry Technician and Project Manager who coordinates crews and resources. Ches specializes in data collection systems. He spearheads all development, testing, and deployment of new technology and systems for the forestry department. Ches collects all road inventory data, province wide, for the BC Hydro Roads contract.
Rick MacDonald, P.Eng Senior Engineer
Rick has been with Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., since 2012. He is a member of the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC and has over 30 years of experience working with industry, contractors, and First Nation groups in the resource sector. His primary role is resource roads, bridges and stream crossings. He continues this work with Chartwell Resource Group in 2021.
Lindsey McGill, P.Eng, RPF Engineering Manager / Partner
Lindsey joined Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., in 2006 with a background in operational forestry and general contracting in the Resource Sector. He is a Professional Engineer and Registered Professional Forester and has developed a reputation for the delivery of economical and effective solutions for the resource sector. Lindsey leads the growing Engineering department and enjoys the challenges posed by our varied client group. With experience gained across Canada and an extensive background throughout British Columbia, Lindsey can offer unique insight and a fresh perspective to complex problems. Outside of work, Lindsey and his wife have two active and wonderful children. Whenever possible, he fits in a game of hockey.
Weillas Ng, P.Eng, RPF Professional Engineer/ Professional Forester
Weillas has recently obtained his Registered Professional Forester (RPF) designation with the ABCFP, and his Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation with EGBC. He began as a summer student in 2015 and has been an active full-time employee since 2017. As a member of both the Engineering and Forestry departments, Weillas has developed proficiency in both sectors. Currently, his role in the company primarily involves resource road and stream crossing development.
Vanessa Richards Civil Technologist
Vanessa joined Chartwell in the summer of 2019 as a Drafting Technician based in the North Vancouver office. Now a Civil Technologist, she works primarily with AutoCAD Civil 3D preparing road, bridge, and culvert designs. Born and raised in London, Ontario, she moved to the West Coast after completing school. She now spends most of her off time swimming in the ocean or exploring the North Shore trails.
Cameron VandenBrink, P.Eng Professional Engineer
Cameron joined Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., in the summer of 2020. He comes from a background of structural engineering and design and joined the Engineering team as an EIT, and has now achieved his Professional Engineer designation. At Chartwell, his primary role is bridges and stream crossings. Outside of the office, Cameron can be found hiking, fly fishing or golfing.

Jessica Bader Project Administrator
Jessica has been with Chartwell Consulting Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., since 2006 as a member of the Administration team. She is responsible for providing project administration and financial tracking for two of Chartwell’s longstanding forestry clients. Jessica is also the administrator for Chartwell’s PPMP program and the knowledge base for the company’s CRM program. Outside of the office Jessica enjoys exploring the local trails with her 2 kids and training for her next Spartan Race.
Dara Bell Administrative Assistant
Dara joined Hedberg and Associates Consulting Ltd. in 2011 and performs office management and general administrative functions. Prior to joining Hedberg and Associates Consulting Ltd., Dara gained work experience in corporate and municipal environments including Vancouver Coastal Health, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and the Town of Arnprior. Since joining Hedberg, Dara has provided administrative support for our office as well as managing and administering our Corporate Safety Management Program. Dara continues in her role with Chartwell Resource Group.
Heather Hedberg, RPF HR/ Operations Manager / Partner
Heather co-founded Hedberg and Associates in 2004 and is now a partner in Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. She has worked in the forest industry since 1993 with a focus on forest management, ecology and fire hazard and risk. She has collected, managed and reported silviculture data. As Heather’s forestry career shifted from field to office, she embraced her business and organization strengths to manage the company. At present, her main role is business management and administrative operations for Chartwell Resource Group. Heather still enjoys the forests as much as possible, but now on adventures with her family and dog.
Kari Zuehlke Admin/ Operations Manager
Kari joined the Chartwell Consultants team in December of 2014 and continues with Chartwell Resource Group. She is responsible for over-seeing the day-to-day office life, company operations and financials, and providing support to all levels of staff. A highlight of her job is that she gets to work closely with all her co-workers and take on a variety of different tasks each day. In addition to her administration role, Kari assists with the coordination of the company safety program. When she isn’t at work, Kari takes every opportunity to spend time with friends and family or get of town and see some new sights.
