Our Team

Remy joined Chartwell in October 2023 as a Junior Field Technician. Remy graduated from UBC Forestry with a BSF in Forest Resource Management and has experience in wildfire consulting in California. He is currently working towards his RPF designation. In his free time, Remy enjoys backcountry skiing, biking, camping, climbing and whipping it up in the kitchen.

Rachel joined Chartwell in 2018 with a focus on silviculture and field engineering and layout.  She is an Accredited Silviculture Surveyor and graduated from UBC Forestry with a BSc in Natural Resources Conservation.

With a background in Forestry since 1985, Fred joined Chartwell in 2020 as project lead and is enjoying reemerging in the field and providing leadership to Chartwell Resource Group’s new recruits. As an operational engineer, he honed my skills in forestry engineering with road design, waste surveys, cutting and road permitting, appraisals, cut-block planning, and contractor supervision. In his off time, Fred enjoys golfing with his (awesome) wife, fishing, watching his daughter play baseball, and paddling in white-water slalom.

Sarah started her forestry career as a Wildland Fire Fighter on Helitack and Rappel crews and has worked the past 12 years at Forest Health on Mountain Pine Beetle projects before joining Chartwell at a full time capacity in May of 2025.

Curtis has been working in Coastal BC as a Forest Engineer since 2011, starting with Chartwell in 2013. He has a variety of experience with LiDAR road design and layout, bridge site plans, aggregate pit volume modelling, recreational campsite design and management of different projects through QGIS. Curtis is proficient in surveying techniques utilizing RTK, total stations and ArcGIS Collector. In his spare time, he enjoys snowmobiling, dirt biking, mountain biking and building mountain bike trails with three trails under a Section 57 permit.

Hanna joined Chartwell in 2022 as a summer student and has been a full-time employee since May 2023. Hanna graduated from the Forest and Natural Areas Management program at BCIT and is working towards her RFT. Her focus in forestry is mainly silviculture. Hanna likes to spend her free time mountain biking, camping, and relaxing with her cat.

Doug joined CRGL in October of 2024.

Ben joined Chartwell as a summer student in 2019. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resource Management from UBC, he joined the forestry team in North Vancouver. Ben has broad experience in the Canadian forest industry stretching back to 2013, including tree planting, silviculture, engineering, GIS and LiDAR analysis. Currently working towards RPF designation, Ben’s primary roles at Chartwell are cutblock and road layout, field crew supervision, and production of quality client deliverables. Ben is passionate about technology and the outdoors, integrating the two for innovative solutions. Ben enjoys cycle touring and experimenting in the kitchen in his spare time.

Kyle graduated from the Forestry Technician Ecosystem Management program at the Confederation College in Ontario. He has 3 years of experience in forestry, and he is currently working towards his RFT designation. He joined Chartwell in August of 2024.

Simon has been a RPF in BC for over 25 years and has worked for industry, government and consulting firms in the forestry and oil and gas sectors. Currently he is a Forestry Tenure Manager with Chartwell based out of Squamish, joining in February of 2024. Simon works closely with the First Nations in the Sea to Sky Corridor to plan and execute Forestry Related Operational Treatments on the Nation’s IRs, Woodlots and FNWLs. Simon is also involved in the management of Chartwell’s Fuel Treatment Management Program.

Liam joined Chartwell in May of 2023 as a Junior Field Technician. Liam graduated from Vancouver Island University with a Forest Tech Diploma and UBC with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forest Resource Management. He is currently working towards becoming an RPF. Liam worked many hours on Vancouver Island and in the Cariboo, conducting forestry jobs. Outside work, Liam enjoys camping with family and friends, hunting or fishing and is almost always accompanied by his dog-Talli.

Jeff holds an Honor of Bachelor of Forestry from Lakehead University and he is a Registered Professional Forester with the FPBC. Jeff also has an Advanced Diploma in GIS from Vancouver Island University. Prior to joining Chartwell in October of 2023, Jeff’s forestry experience has been primarily in timber cruising and block layout in BC’s Northern Interior.

Mitchell went to school in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He started at Confederation College with the forestry technician diploma, then transferred into Lakehead University and worked towards his forest management degree. He joined Chartwell in May of 2024.

Spencer has  Diploma on Forest and Natural Areas Management from BCIT. He worked part of the summer season last year and is now returning on a full-time basis as of May 2024.

Taylor graduated from UBC in 2024 from FRM program and enjoyed the excitement and adventure that this work brings. She is very happy to be permanently re-joining CRGL in April of 2025, after being a part of the summer program, and working on the new and exciting projects on the Sunshine Coast and beyond!

Codie is an Accredited Silviculture Surveyor and a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) who has worked in the forestry and renewable resources sector for 19 years. Codie joined Chartwell in 2011. During the first eight years of her career, she focused mainly on silviculture and Mountain pine beetle surveys, layout and quality assurance in the Interior of BC. Since moving to the coast, she has broadened her skill set to include various field and office aspects of hydroelectric power projects, clean energy projects, forestry operations and project management.

Evan joined Chartwell in March of 2023, with a background in silviculture projects and extensive experience with forestry operations in Ontario and British Columbia; both as a tree planter and crew leader.

Andy has over 16 years of experience working in the forest sector and joined Chartwell in 2011. His specialty includes full-phase timber development and forest engineering. He also routinely leads crews on transmission line development and clean energy projects. Andy graduated with a diploma in Forest Resources Forestry Option from BCIT.

Andrew joined Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. in 2013 as a summer student and has been a full-time employee since 2015. Starting out as an Assistant Engineer, Andrew is now a Project manager working on multiple projects around the lower mainland and the north coast of BC. Andrew’s role involves forest operational planning, field engineering, site planning and permit preparation.

Gerrit joined Chartwell as a summer student in 2022 and has been full‑time since 2024. He graduated from Vancouver Island University with a Forest Resources Tech Diploma and from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. The company’s Wildfire Technician, Gerrit spent three seasons with the BC Wildfire Service, gaining invaluable boots‑on‑the‑ground experience prior to joining Chartwell. His role involves Wildfire Risk Reduction, Community Wildfire Resilience, and Hazardous Fuel Management and Mitigation.

Adrian (Abe) Litz has over 20 years of experience in the forest industry. Since 2000, Abe has worked in professional forest management. At Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., Abe manages forest development and silviculture planning for the forest sector. His expertise lies in site and landscape-level planning, First Nation partnerships and consultation, contract administration and site restoration planning and supervision. Abe is an RPF, a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Forestry and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Dalhousie University.

Chad has worked at Chartwell for 14 of his 20 years in the industry. He has been a partner in Chartwell since 2016 and is looking forward to helping make Chartwell one of the best resource consulting companies in the province. Chad spent the early part of his career learning his trade on the west coast of Vancouver Island and the Mid-coast. He has since worked in all the corners of the province on resource-related projects. He now resides in Salmon Arm, so he can better serve Chartwell’s clients in the southern interior of BC.

Jeff is a Forest Technologist with 25 years of experience in operational forestry and forest engineering, working at Chartwell since 2011. His expertise is in coastal and interior cut block layout. He also has a background in legal and construction surveying prior to his forestry career. Most recently he completed a Bachelor of Technology degree in Ecological Restoration to supplement his forestry knowledge. His main focus is forest harvest planning implemented through project management, field layout, supervision and training of layout crews.

Laura graduated from Lakehead University in Northwestern Ontario with a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry. She then moved to the West Coast to begin her professional career; starting at Chartwell in April of 2024.

Stefan joined Chartwell Resource Group in 2022 as a Forest Technician, focusing on vegetation management. He graduated in 2020 and is pursuing his professional forestry career toward becoming an RFT.

Rurik has ten years of experience in resource industries across the province. He has been part of the Chartwell team for eight years. Managing projects, ranging from planning of forest development and energy infrastructure capital projects. He enjoys collaborating with other professionals to provide high-quality services to clients. When not working, Rurik paddles Sechelt Inlet, camps and coaches his kids’ soccer teams.

Bryce is a graduate of UBC Faculty of Forestry with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources Management, in  addition to field and office work experience as an assistant Forestry Technician; he joined Chartwell in January of 2024.

Dan has accumulated 18 years of silviculture and planting experience as well as having a Paramedic and Policing degree. He started at Chartwell in March of 2024 and has 2 Blue Heelers that he feels lucky to have at work with him.

Ken has been working in the forest sector over 15 years and has been with Chartwell since 2016. He has a broad skill set in forest road and cutblock planning and layout that combines up-to-date technology such as LiDAR with tried-and-true field principles. In addition to this role, he is involved with long-term planning, supervising field work, and preparing permits and deliverables. He believes that collaborative work is the key to creating design-level innovations that maximize value for our clients. His knowledge and experience base extends into silviculture, transmission line development, and woodlot maintenance. He has experience working with contractors, industry, government, First Nation groups, landowners, and other stakeholders. Ken holds a Forest Resources Diploma and a B.A. Philosophy from Vancouver Island University. While not at work Ken enjoys backcountry hiking, film and literature, and tabletop gaming.

Chris joined CRGL in 2023 as a Junior Field Technician focused on field engineering and layout. Chris graduated from UBC with a BSF in forest resources management and is working towards his RPF designation. He spends his free time backcountry skiing and trail running in the mountains around Squamish.

Katy joined Chartwell in September of 2022.

Jordan began his career at Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., as a summer student in 2018 and became a full-time employee in 2020. Jordan has progressed from a Junior Forest Engineer to Project Lead, working on resource projects throughout the B.C. coastal and interior regions, and has recently obtained his RFT designation. With a background in business and marketing, Jordan has expanded his skill set to include utility right-of-way layout, client data collection and management, and various surveying duties. After hours, Jordan indulges in music, sports, and the outdoors with friends and family.

Jillian has joined Chartwell in 2025 of April. She is a registered Professional Forester with a Master’s of Science degree in Forestry from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor’s from the University of Vermont. She moved to BC in 2015 and loves it here!

Joining in 2012, Wes has over 20 years of experience working in the coastal forestry industry. He specializes in strategic planning for locating infrastructure in challenging terrain and providing operational solutions to maximize value for our clients. Wes has extensive experience in multi-phase natural resource management in timber development and permitting silviculture treatments and stand management. Wes has completed transmission line planning, design and layout for several large-scale circuits throughout BC. Wes has technical proficiency in vegetation management and rehabilitation prescriptions for industrial clients. He graduated from BCIT’s Renewable Resources Forestry Diploma Program and has a B.Sc. from UBC’s Forest Science Program.

Noah has been a full-time employee since April 2015. Noah’s role with Chartwell Resource Group includes project management of forestry field engineering and professional document preparation, dealing with site plan development, visual impact assessments, and total chance plans. Noah has developed a diverse skill set in the forest sector through his work with coastal and interior clients and other resource-related projects. Beginning in 2020, Noah is working on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project as Lead for Forestry and Off Right-of-Way Access development. Away from work, Noah spends his time exploring with friends and family.

Skyler used to be a manager at Dominos, before returning to school to become a Forestry Technician, he joined Chartwell in May of 2024.

Matthew has been with Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. for 15 years and in the Forest Industry for over 30 years. Prior, he was in the Fish and Wildlife field for six years and several other scattered years working in the Construction Industry. Work took him to many locations throughout BC and Alberta.  In his youth, farming was moulded into his being, setting the life stage for getting the job done efficiently. He has been a member of the two main Professional Associations in BC for the past 28 years. Away from work, he enjoys life with his family, travel, and many outdoor sports.

Kevin is a Registered Forest Technologist with 24 years of forestry experience. He has worked on timber cruising, forestry planning, and tenure management. He is passionate about sustainable forestry planning and forest stewardship initiatives. Kevin works closely with the Katzie and Kwantlen First Nation in timber supply management. He is involved with multiple tenure holders like the UBC Research Forest, BCIT and the Mission TFL. Kevin allocates cultural management areas and participates in cedar bark stripping and archaeological surveys.
Kevin has had the pleasure of working closely with both the Katzie and Kwantlen cultural departments allocating cultural management areas within their tenures, participating in cedar bark stripping, naming logging roads with local indigenous language, participating in several archaeological surveys as well as sourcing several cultural canoe logs. Participating in a field survey of several monumental cedar trees with Master Carver Rocky Leon has been the highlight of Kevin’s career so far.

Sarah has been a part of the team since 2014.  She focuses on community forest and small tenures planning.

John is a natural resource specialist with a background in forestry, GIS, and remote sensing. John has 10+ years of experience working on a range of forestry-focused projects. These include mapping and modelling forest disturbances, designing and developing GIS databases, and collaborating with First Nations Governments. John is an avid cyclist, gardener, and pizzaiolo. He has also recently started growing an orchard.

After earning an Honours degree in GIS, Reinhardt worked as a GIS Specialist in the civil engineering industry, where he developed an appetite for coding. He then furthered his studies at Langara College in Vancouver, completing a post-degree diploma in Web & Mobile App Development. He has joined the Chartwell team as of February 2025.

Chris has worked at Chartwell since 2013 as a Project Manager, focused on LiDAR projects and landPlanner. With two Advanced Diplomas in Geomatics and 18 years of experience in his field, he chose to work with Chartwell based on our commitment to innovation. Chris has been on the Regional Board of Directors of the Puget Sound Region of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing since 2009. Away from work, Chris spends his time travelling, working towards a clean environment and outdoors with animals.

With Chartwell Consultants Ltd, now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd, since 2014, Simon is a GIS Developer and Database Specialist and leads Chartwell’s web service development. Simon has over 15 years of experience across a variety of geospatial projects in the natural resource and environmental sectors, focusing on web mapping and data management. Simon graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Sheffield and a Masters in Remote Sensing from University College London. Outside work, Simon can be found on the ski slopes or trying to keep up with his kids on the North Shore mountain bike trails.

Marianne has been with Chartwell since 2010 as Senior GIS Project Manager and became a partner in 2016. Her role includes developing, maintaining and analyzing data in local and enterprise environments and is responsible for coordinating and overseeing forestry operational mapping projects for various clients. She has more than fifteen years of GIS Experience in advanced spatial analysis and map production. Outside of work, she combines her passions for running and travel by training for and participating in marathons globally.

Julie has been with the team since its beginning in 2000. Julie is responsible for forestry operational mapping, utilities-based operational mapping and ESF submissions to RESULTS and FTA.  Outside of work, Julie enjoys hiking the beautiful trails of the North Shore and cheering her kids on at all of their sporting events.

Before joining Chartwell in January of 2024, Russell graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a degree in geography and geomatics. He holds a drafting certificate from SAIT. Russell’s previous experience includes working in land surveying, municipal, and forestry.

Having a background in both Coastal and Interior Forestry operations, Ryan has been intrigued by the potential of GIS. His background in Forestry drives Ryan to pursue a Bachelor of Technology Degree in GIS at BCIT. Ryan combined his experience as a Vegetation Management Technician with his forestry background to secure a GIS role after graduation. Ryan is responsible for Utilities-based operational mapping, Forestry operational mapping, and the maintenance and analysis of geospatial data. During his free time, Ryan indulges in fitness, art, and outdoor activities with good company.

Marc is a full-stack developer who graduated from the University of Victoria in 2020. He worked on GIS Data platforms at Ocean Networks Canada. At Sun Tracker, He worked on 3D modeling and calculations for lighting in horticulture and architecture before joining CRGL.

Mark has been with Chartwell since 2015 as a field team member, having since moved into a GIS Technician role, focusing on developing web mapping and mobile GIS solutions. Mark has used his experience in web GIS and script writing to help Chartwell develop landPlanner, a web-based GIS tool. When he is not at work, Mark spends his time outside, enjoying his passion for surfing and climbing.

Mathew joined the team in 2010 as a GIS Technician. Now working as a GIS Project Manager, Mathew coordinates the development of web mapping and mobile GIS solutions designed for clients in the utilities sector. He also oversees large-scale map production and data management projects. Outside the office, Mathew enjoys skiing, hiking, and fishing.

Pete has been with Chartwell Consultants Ltd., now Chartwell Resource Group Ltd., since 2014. Pete’s role as a GIS Specialist at CRGL is complimented by his background in fisheries and wetland habitat management and supported by his degree in Biology. Today, he is responsible for operational mapping, visual impact analysis, and geospatial data management. Outside office hours, Pete spends his time mountain biking, backcountry skiing, fishing, and kiteboarding.

Miranda joined Chartwell at the end of 2005 and has worked on various operational mapping projects. Outside working hours, Miranda will be down at the ocean, gardening or knitting.

Rhys began his career in natural resources after graduating from BCIT with a Diploma in Forest and Natural Areas Management, practicing all aspects of cutblock development, including layout and environmental assessments. Transitioning into full-time GIS, Rhys joined Chartwell after obtaining his Advanced Diploma in GIS from BCIT, combining his knowledge of natural resource management with a passion for technology. Since joining the GIS Development team at Chartwell, Rhys has worked extensively on landPLANNER and other web GIS projects for Chartwell, with a particular interest in facilitating field-data collection and management solutions. An enthusiast for coastal tranquility, Rhys enjoys spending leisure time at the beach or playing classical piano.

Logan joined Chartwell in August of 2024, he holds a GIS Advanced Diploma from BCIT and a Math and Physics degree from UNBC. His previous work experience include forestry, construction, CAD, and GIS.

David began at CRGL in October of 2023 and has since become involved in a number of exciting projects. He is passionate about spatial data management, analysis, and development to improve GIS workflows. His most notable work has come from the HydroNet Distribution project, where David has been instrumental in the design of database schema, triggers for the development of Geoprocessing Tools.

Michael joined Chartwell as of June 2025. Michael holds a bachelor of science in computing science from SFU, and an advanced diploma in GSI from BCIT. He previously worked in Forestry as a field technician in Smithers, BC.

Nick has been consulting as a Civil Engineering Technologist since 2011 and joined the team in 2014. Nick has experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D in a wide variety of practical applications in the Forestry, Mining, and Oil and gas sectors, and also has experience undertaking RTK/Total Station surveys, construction monitoring, and hydrological analysis. Outside of the office, Nick is either camping in the backcountry or at a brewery in a town near you.

Kyle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Victoria and is currently an EIT. His previous work experience includes nuclear, construction, and project management. He joined Chartwell in August of 2024.

Weillas has recently obtained his Registered Professional Forester (RPF) designation with the ABCFP and his Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation with EGBC. He began as a summer student in 2015 and has been an active full-time employee since 2017. Weillas has developed proficiency in both the Engineering and Forestry sectors. His role in the company primarily involves resource road and stream crossing development.

Nhat has a background in Civil Engineering Technology, specializing in C3D, Sketchup, and Revit. Graduated in 2021 from Ontario, then worked as a Junior Civil Designer for Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. for one year. In 2023, he joined Chartwell Consulting Ltd. as an Engineering Technician. Outside work, Nhat enjoys frequenting the gym or local coffee shops.

Dave graduated from UNB with a BSc. in Forest Engineering in 1994. Since then, he has worked for Forest Licensees on the South and Mid-Coast. Prior to joining Chartwell at the end of 2024, he spent the last 12 years working in Squamish.

Cameron joined Chartwell Resource Group Ltd. in the summer of 2020, bringing with him a background in structural engineering and design. He joined the Engineering team as an EIT and has attained his Professional Engineer designation. Cameron’s primary area of responsibility at Chartwell is bridges and stream crossings. When he’s not at work, he can usually be found hiking, fly fishing, or golfing.

Vanessa graduated from her hometown of London, Ontario with a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. She joined Chartwell initially in 2019 as a drafter, and became a Certified Technician in 2021. Vanessa is now rejoining us as of April of 2024.

Marilyn joined Chartwell in 2016 as a GIS practicum student and took on a full-time role shortly after. With a background in fisheries, forestry and GIS, Marilyn has carved out a unique and dynamic role at Chartwell. She is responsible for operational mapping and the maintenance and analysis of geospatial data. She is also an active member of the Chartwell Biology Department, conducting fish surveys and environmental assessments for various clientele. As a member of BC’s College of Applied Biology, Marilyn is pursuing her designation as a Registered Professional Biologist and is thrilled to expand with Chartwell into this role. Away from work, Marilyn likes travelling and exploring BC’s beautiful coast on her bike.

Michael has joined Chartwell in July of 2025. Since 2006, Michael has worked as a biologist and environmental professional in northwest British Columbia. He earned his Registered Professional designation in October 2013 and while his background spans many areas, he focuses on freshwater fisheries and aquatic ecosystems, Outside of his career he’s a proud father of two.

Sarah spent five years working in forestry before transitioning into environmental biology. After earning her degree in Ecological Restoration, she joined the biology team at CRGL in 2022. In her current role, she works primarily with the biology team while also assisting in the management of Fraser Valley silviculture. She is actively working towards her Registered Professional Biologist and Registered Forest Technologist designations.

Felicia has recently joined the Environmental Services Team with Chartwell in January of 2023. She is an ISA Certified Arborist and Qualified Tree Risk Assessor (TRAQ). Felicia is a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Biology program at the University of the Fraser Valley.

Annie started with Chartwell in September of 2023 as a Junior Field Technician. She graduated from UBC with a BSc in Natural Resources Conservation and is working towards her RBTech. Annie has field experience working with wildlife and vegetation management. Outside of work, Annie enjoys trail running, hiking, and skiing.

Briana joined Chartwell in 2023 as a member of the Biology team. Briana holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Dalhousie University in Marine Biology, with a certificate in Aquaculture and the Environment. As part of the biology team, she actively participates in fish salvages, habitat assessments and environmental monitoring projects. Briana is a current member of the BC College of Applied Biology, as a Registered Professional Biologist. In her off time, Briana enjoys scuba diving, reading, and exploring all that BC has to offer with her fiancé and her canine companion, Moose.

Rita joined CRGL in October 2023 and is our People & Culture Lead, who manages a variety of HR responsibilities, including but not limited to talent acquisition, learning & development, policies & procedures, as well as leading a number of HR projects and initiatives. She is an ex-Amazonian with over 7 years of experience in HR, Administration and French teaching. She holds Master’s and bachelor’s degrees in HR Management and a second Bachelor’s in French literature. She speaks four languages aside from her mother tongue: Arabic, French, English, and Spanish. Her hobbies include writing, dancing, and travelling, and her areas of interest are psychology and criminology.

Beverley specializes in mapping, spatial analysis, forest resource management, and occupational health and safety policy and regulations. She has over 10 years of experience working in a GIS environment on a variety of projects across British Columbia’s private, public, and research sectors. She joined Chartwell in April 2022 as a GIS Analyst and transitioned to a Safety Lead role in 2026.

Jessica has been a part of the Chartwell administrative team since 2006. She provides project administration and financial tracking for two of Chartwell’s longstanding forestry clients. Jessica is also the administrator for Chartwell’s PPMP program and the knowledge base for the company’s CRM program. Outside of the office, Jessica enjoys exploring the local trails with her two kids and training for her next Spartan Race.

Abi is a dedicated and hard-working individual who has resided in Canada for over 10 years. During this time, Abi has built a career in Law, Insurance, and Administrative work. She now joins us at Chartwell as a dedicated project administrator, as of September of 2024.

Dara joined in 2011 and performs office management and general administrative functions. Dara gained work experience in corporate and municipal environments such as Vancouver Coastal Health, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and the Town of Arnprior. Since joining Hedberg, Dara has provided administrative support for our office and manages our Corporate Safety Management Program.

Autra joined Chartwell in 2023 as an office administrator. Despite having previous experience in other offices, she is always eager to learn more while working at Chartwell. Autra’s principal responsibility is to ensure the smooth functioning of the office. She diligently handles her daily tasks and supports her colleagues when they need assistance. Outside work, she enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones or curling up with a good mystery novel.
